Virtual Counseling Services
-
No cost/45 minutes: I offer a complimentary initial consultation where we’ll discuss your goals and what may be getting in the way. I’ll share some initial thoughts on how I might be able to help, and we’ll assess whether we’re a good fit.
-
$200/55 minutes: A typical session will last nearly an hour, and I think of these as our standard working blocks. Whether that work happens weekly or at a lesser frequency will depend on your treatment goals, progress, and what feels most useful as we go.
-
$200 per 60 minutes: Extended sessions may last from 1 to 3 hours and are billed in 30-minute increments. At times, we may collaboratively plan extended sessions to accomplish more work in a given block. This can be beneficial when we have clear EMDR targets that we’d like to ensure we work all the way through before the end of our session.
-
$1,750 / 10 sessions: We’ll begin with an initial assessment and planning session, then move into four weeks of twice-weekly focused EMDR, DBR, or other experiential work. The final session gives us space to debrief, assess progress, and decide what support (if any) makes sense moving forward.
-
$250/75 minutes: These sessions give us more space to talk through patterns you’re noticing with your child or teen, think about what may be reinforcing the problem, and identify practical ways to respond differently at home.
-
$300 / 90 minutes: Family sessions give us enough time to slow down the interaction, understand what is happening between people in the room, and work more directly with communication, conflict, repair, and the patterns affecting the family system.
Do you accept insurance?
My practice is primarily private pay, though I am in network with a limited number of SelectHealth plans. If I’m out of network with your insurance, your plan may still reimburse a portion of the cost through out-of-network mental health benefits. I can provide super bills if needed for reimbursement.
You may check if you are eligible for out-of-network reimbursement using the tool here. Note: these are estimates and you should always confirm coverage directly with your network.
-
Using insurance can make therapy more financially accessible, and I don’t take that lightly. I accepted insurance for many years. Over time, I found that private pay gives us more freedom to make decisions about the focus, length, and approach to therapy based on what seems clinically useful, rather than around an insurance company’s requirements for diagnosis, medical necessity, authorization, or continued coverage. If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, you may still be able to receive reimbursement while working with me privately.
-
I offer a limited number of reduced-fee sessions using a flexible sliding scale. Reduced-fee arrangements are typically made for 10 sessions at a time, and then we’ll reevaluate where you are, what you still want to work on, and what feels financially sustainable moving forward. If finances are a concern, you might first consider the short-term intensive package, which lowers the per-session rate. If that still feels out of reach, please come talk to me.
-
Yes, in many cases. Therapy is often an eligible HSA or FSA expense, though plans vary. I’m happy to provide the documentation you need, and I always recommend confirming eligibility directly with your plan administrator.
-
Yes. If you’re not using insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of your care. I’ll provide that information so you have a clear sense of what services are likely to cost before we get too far into the work.
-
typically like to meet weekly at first so we have enough consistency to build momentum and get a clear sense of what’s helping. If we’re doing more experiential work, particularly EMDR, I may suggest meeting more frequently for a short period of time. I like working toward short-term goals so we can regularly evaluate whether the frequency and duration of therapy are actually working for you.
-
I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. If you cancel within 24 hours, I charge a $100 late-cancellation fee; however, I waive that fee for up to two late cancellations per calendar year. No-shows are charged the full session fee. Cancellations made with at least 48 hours’ notice are not charged.
-
I require a credit or debit card to be kept on file and process payments securely through Stripe within SimplePractice. Credit card processing costs are included in my standard session fee unless we’ve discussed a different arrangement as part of a reduced-fee agreement. At this time, I don’t accept cash or checks, and I don’t use Venmo or Zelle for therapy payments due to privacy and HIPAA considerations.
-
You can. I don’t expect therapy to continue indefinitely, and I want you to feel like you have agency in the process. If you decide you need to pause, reduce frequency, or end, we can talk openly about what is driving that decision and make a plan that feels thoughtful rather than abrupt whenever possible.
-
Yes. If you’re using out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill with the information your insurance company typically needs to process a reimbursement claim. Reimbursement varies by plan, so I recommend confirming your out-of-network benefits directly with your insurance company.
-
Yes. If you choose to use Mentaya, they can submit your out-of-network claims after each session and handle the reimbursement process with your insurance company. You’ll pay Mentaya’s processing fee directly for that service. If you’d rather submit claims yourself, I can provide a superbill instead.
